After 12 years in Architecture, Bruce changed careers after a motor vehicle accident in 1969 when he was helped to convalesce by his eventual mentor, Dr David Duggan DO. ND. Bruce retrained and graduated in 1983 from the South Pacific College of Natural Therapeutics Inc. with a Diploma in Naturopathy. He continues to attend seminars on a regular basis to keep his knowledge up to the cutting edge.

After graduating from the Osteopathic College of New Zealand with a Diploma of Osteopathy in 1988, Bruce undertook further training in Visceral Manipulation and Cranio-Sacral 2 from the Upledger Institute in Hawaii in 1988, broadening his knowledge in the Osteopathic field. In 1998 Bruce qualified as a Health Coach from Innovative Practice Solutions Ltd at a Boot Camp on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia to round off his Naturopathic skills.

Bruce has an insatiable passion to making a difference to his clients’ lives so that they can live a life of optimal health. There are many moments in Bruce’s life when he feels he is in his absolute element and most of those are when he is helping people to discover their true health and genetic potential, so they can contribute by participating in their community and society as a whole.

Bruce has two beautiful daughters he is very proud of, Adriana Margot Harper who is now a professional ballet dancer with the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company and Samantha, who is training to be a qualified Nanny and also persuing a career in Events Management.

Bruce is currently a Registered Osteopath with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand, a treatment provider for ACC and the New Zealand Academy of Sports/ Medicine NZ.

Bruce finds it is an honour and a privilege to be working with such experienced and specialised practitioners at Discover Health. With the two practices working to complement each other, the future of healthcare in Auckland will greatly prosper.
